Plant-Based Eatery – Aratham Gourmet To Go – Opens in Downtown Detroit

Thursday, January 20 [DETROIT] – Aratham Gourmet To Go today announced the Grand Opening in Downtown Detroit on Monday, January 24, 2022. Located in Bedrock’s historic Chrysler House  (719 Griswold Suite #100), Aratham Gourmet To Go will bring a new wave of healthy cuisine options to Detroit’s expanding restaurant scene.

Aratham specializes in sourcing plant-based and organic foods to support holistic lifestyles – including a full range of side dishes, entrees, juices and desserts; and natural supplements, candles, soaps and more.

“Aratham is a labor of love in every sense of the word. Love, quality, health and creativity in plant-based cooking is the essence of Aratham,” said Gabriel and Tiffanie Vera, co-owners of Aratham. “We truly care about our customers, our community and the health of the planet. It’s because of this love that we developed a menu that is gourmet in quality, plant-based and lower in price. Food can heal and fortify, and we fully believe organic, gourmet cuisine and other natural products for the home and body should be affordable for all.”

The Downtown Detroit location is Aratham’s third expansion, and the rotating takeaway menu will feature Aratham favorites such as their popular plant-based crab cakes, “Lobster” po boys, soups, salads, fresh juices and Aratham’s own Elderberry syrups.

“Aratham will bring Detroit residents, commuters and visitors a convenient yet elevated experience that is new to the market,” said Naumann Idrees, Bedrock’s Senior Vice President of Leasing. “Gabriel and Tiffanie have a unique skillset and background and are perfectly positioned to provide excellent plant-based cuisine.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Background:

Aratham originally launched in 2019 as a meal delivery service by award-winning Chef Gabriel Vera and his wife Tiffanie. After years of successs, the couple opened ‘to go’ locations across metro-Detroit in a response to high public demand organic cuisine.

“We believe take away, grab & go meals should be delicious, interesting, fresh and healthy - the opening of the new Aratham Gourmet To Go storefront allows the Detroit community to stop in and purchase a variety of organic, plant-based foods quickly and conveniently, without sacrificing taste or nutrition,” Gabriel and Tiffanie said.

Gabriel Vera served as Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef at MGM Grand, Joe Vicari Restaurant Group (Andiamo, Joe Muer), Mission Point on Mackinac Island, Hilton and the Hyatt, Saltwater, Four Diamond and others. He is a sommelier and gold and silver medalist of the Culinary World Cup, Luxembourg; IKA Culinary Olympics, and others and received awards for ice and vegetable carvings among many other accolades.

Tiffanie Vera, a naturopath who is a trained birth and postpartum doula, is also a previous director of some of Detroit’s trendiest bars. She left the spirits industry to focus on holistic healing. Tiffanie emphasizes that Aratham is designed to fill a void in the region - of food that is prepared and cooked with love, concern, and appreciation for whomever consumes it, and with passion and love for all beings on the planet. She brings the essence of community and family to Aratham along with the determination to never stray from the mission of zero waste, organic, plant-based, eco-friendly foods and products.
