A block from Campus Martius Park in the Merchants Row shopping area, the Kresge Building was designed by architecture firm Smith, Hinchman & Grylls and constructed in 1917 as the Kresge Co.’s main offices and department store. The nine-story, beige-brick structure was purchased by Bedrock in 2012 and updated by architecture firm Kraemer Design Group. The first floor and the mezzanine level were remodeled in 2017 for Under Armour Brand House, which filled the space for five years. Remaining above are offices for two of Dan Gilbert’s companies.
