A block from Campus Martius Park in the Merchant Row shopping area, 1201 Woodward was designed by architecture firm Smith, Hinchman & Grylls and constructed in 1917 for Kresge’s discount store. The nine-story, beige-brick structure was purchased by Bedrock in 2012. In 2017, architecture firm Kraemer Design Group renovated the first floor and mezzanine level for the Under Armour activewear store, which filled the space for five years. Remaining above is office space.
