The May Company building was originally designed by Daniel Burnham, the famed architect and city planner behind the White City at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, and was built for the luxury department store of the same name. The property was acquired by Bedrock in 2017 and underwent a major historical adaptive reuse project transforming the structure into residential, hotel, office and ground-floor retail. The project was completed in 2020 and has since garnered numerous awards.
